The third of our March surprises (with one more surprise remaining)…

My pregnancy is over! I birthed my baby girl on 3/12/2023 and we are doing well and recovering at home. (Above photo is a stock image of baby feet). I'm currently on maternity leave, returning to work starting with online sessions in July (firm date TBD). I am returning phone calls and emails twice a week -- thanks for your patience.

Sophia returns from the desert at the end of March and is available for Initial Individual Sessions, Individual Sessions, and Group Classes starting Tuesday, April 4.

While Sophia and I are both off, packages are extended.

There are NO CLASSES on the schedule this week. Classes resume Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

In the meantime, keep working toward your fitness goals and  reach out to our renter Kristin Neidlinger. Check out her bio below:

Kristin Neidlinger is a Master Instructor of Pilates Rehabilitation techniques. With over 20 years of experience, she is Certified in Rehabilitation Pilates and Osteoporosis Pilates, with a specialty in neuropathies. Also, as a Certified Massage Therapist - Somatic Educator (CMT-SE) she incorporates yoga, breathing, chi, and energy techniques into the alchemy of movement. In San Francisco, she has worked as a Dance Medicine Specialist at St. Francis Hospital, 2005-07, as well as alongside many chiropractic and physical therapy offices. She was a classically trained ballerina, and modern dancer who discovered Pilates through dance injury rehabilitation and found the body-mind connection to not only heal, but increase strength and agility. She holds a BFA in Kinetic Design, a MFA in Interactive Design, and is currently finishing a PhD in eHealth and wearable technology.

You can schedule a Pilates session with Kristin by emailing slimavocado@gmail.com.

Please be prepared to provide updated proof of vaccination when visiting the studio. Here's a useful link to have on hand when you've forgotten your paper vaccination card:

https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/

Remember that bivalent boosters are available to those who are eligible, and we encourage you to stay current on your vaccinations to help keep our community healthy.

We are continuing to wear masks fully covering the nose and mouth while in the Movement For Everyone studio. Our window does not open, our space is very intimate, and we're prioritizing hands-on work during in-person sessions. Online sessions are available for those who are unable to mask for 50-minutes. Thank you for your cooperation.

Looking forward to seeing you online and in-person this week! Until then, GET YOUR BOOSTER, breathe deeply, stay socially distant, healthy and sane.

Warmly,

Harriet

With the intention of embracing our humanity while working toward incremental cultural change, our class donation recipient organization for 2023 is the Lawyer's Committee For Civil Rights SF. From their website:

The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area is the leading civil rights organization on the West Coast that works on groundbreaking impact litigation and provides direct services to low-income communities of color.

As one of the oldest civil rights institutions on the West Coast, our goal is to dismantle systems of oppression and racism, and to build an equitable and just society. By providing direct services to our communities, taking on important litigation, and advocating for legislative change, we address issues of inequality and injustice that the moment and the movement demands.

Recent successful legislative campaigns in the San Francisco Bay Area include decriminalizing jaywalking (AB 2147) and the Public Banking Option Act (AB 1177).

We will donate 100% of class fees from the second full week of every month to this fantastic organization that helps our community on so many levels. Please join us in making your own donation when you're able.
